I have been seeing Jian for about 3 years now. I was referred to her, by my GP. The attention I have received from Jian has been superb. She was the first person who did not treat my neck condition as a "one size fits all”. But rather used a holistic and individualized approach to assist me with alleviating my pain and gaining mobility through acupuncture. She is a very caring and professional therapist. She guides her staff to the same quality standards of care and therefore delivers nothing but the best for her clients. Jian was also very efficient at sending reports and communication to my GP and Insurance. I feel very blessed to have had her expertise, support and therapy over the years. She is simply the best! Fortunately in life, there are encounters that can change your life. This is what happened to me a few years ago when I met Jian Zhang, a registered physiotherapist. Over a period of 10 years, I had trigeminal neuralgia that caused severe, sharp, shooting facial pain. Pain became "unbearable" over time and I couldn’t do anything when pain attacked. From doctor to doctor, from specialist to specialist, from physiotherapist to physiotherapist, no one was able to relieve my pain. Taking stronger and stronger medications had become my daily life; it destroyed my health and ruined my life. NOTHING relieved my pain until I was referred to see Jian by a chief physiotherapist. She assessed me and said to me she could treat my condition with physiotherapy and acupuncture. With her knowledge and experience, in just a few treatments, she resolved my pain and brought me back to life. I have taken physiotherapy treatment at Xpertphysio & Sport Injury Centre for a few years. Jian Zhang who is the physiotherapist and the owner , has done excellent therapy to improve the pain and the disability from various musculoskeletal problems. I am very satisfied with the positive results from the treatments I have received. Her clinic is easily accessible and well maintained. I’ve known Jian for more than 6 years and she is the best physiotherapist I’ve experienced in Ottawa area. With chronic knee issues due to sports injuries many years ago, I suffered from not being able to participate in activities I used to enjoy. Jian helped me to recover from this miserable situation with combination of different treatments including acupuncture, ultrasound, physio therapeutic treatment and massage. My name is Heather Pigden. My mobility, flexibility, coordination and vision were affected by cerebral palsy at birth. I use 2 canes and a manual wheelchair to get around in and outside of my residence. Jian Zhang has been my regular physiotherapist since 2019. She uses sitting and standing exercises and stretches my legs and back. When my neck and shoulders are tense or painful, Jian uses a tens machine and acupuncture. The relief is wonderful. Jian is a hidden gem in Barrhaven with a remarkable gift. It is obvious that her job is her passion. She is always willing to go beyond the extra mile to help me out. I work and live near downtown Ottawa, and am always happy to drive to Barrhaven through rush hour traffic after work to seek treatment from her, because I know her therapies are effective. I will never understand it, but she can somehow heal me from not being able to get out of bed (requiring assistance), to being back on my feet performing my fairly physical job after only a couple of sessions.
