Jian Jen Zhang
Clinical Manager & Registered Physiotherapist

Jian received her Master degree of Science in Physiotherapy from Queen’s university and successfully completed Canadian Physiotherapy Competency Exam (PCE) in 2008. Jian started her independent practice as a registered physiotherapist in Ontario since October 2008. Before Jian moved to Canada with her family, she received her Bachelor degree of Science in Sport Medicine and Rehabilitation in China. She worked as a medical doctor in the rehabilitation department in Guangzhou 12th Hospital in China for nine years. She also worked as an intern and treated professional athletes in the medical clinic of Guangdong Provincial Sport Training Center.

Jian has been providing physiotherapy services to all age groups in both clinic and community settings. Jian is experienced treating neuromusculoskeletal conditions, especially treating Bell’s palsy and working with extended health insurance companies, public-funded physiotherapy program, MVA auto insurance companies, and Ontario’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. In additional to her clinical practice, Jian passionately taught physiotherapy students as a clinic instructor and participated in PCE as an examiner. Jian started to explore her interest in business management and development in 2010. Jian was the business partner and the clinic manager of Pro Physio & Sport Medicine Centre in two locations in Ottawa. She was also the co-founder and the director of Pro Physio Active Aging & Rehab Centre from 2014 to 2019.

Jian currently practices physiotherapy in Xpertphysio & Sport Injury Centre, and she is also the clinical manager. She continues to provide high quality services to the clients, and the training to the students. Out of work, Jian has broad interests in music, art, hiking, kayaking, and skiing. Jian walked 271 km on the Camino de Frances route in June 2022. Jian will continuously explore her curiosity and potentials, and contribute more to the communities.

Susan Shang
Registered Acupuncturist in Ontario

Susan is a registered member of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario.  She graduated from International Academy of Applied Health in Ottawa with the Academic Excellence Award in May 2023.  She is also a current lecturer of the Acupuncture program at TriOS College.

Susan is dedicated to providing professional and holistic care and treatment to help people in the Barrhaven region live healthier and feel better.  She provides a wide range of Traditional Chinese Medicine services including acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion and Chinese Tuina massage, catering to a variety of the needs of her patients, especially pain and stress relief, assistance in recovery from trauma and surgeries, as well as reducing symptoms of acute and chronic diseases, and improvement of the quality of life.

Prior to entering the field of TCM and acupuncture, Susan worked as an immigrant service officer and high school teacher in Ottawa.  She has post-graduate education in both Canada and China and possesses good communication skills in English and Mandarin Chinese.  She is very familiar with both the Canadian and Chinese cultures and puts her focus on improving patients’ experience and satisfaction, giving each client the full attention they deserve.
